Anthem began in 2011 as a small festival inside a conference room on the 26th Floor at Bally’s Hotel. Our goal was to provide a venue for filmmakers who care about individuality and libertarian ideals. Now our films screen to standing-room audiences in the comfortable Sin City Theater at Planet Hollywood. In fact, last year we had over 1,000 viewers at two of our evening film events, projecting on three screens simultaneously in the Celebrity Ballroom. Enthusiastic Q & A lasted for nearly an hour after each of those events.

Jo Ann is the Festival Director for the Anthem Libertarian Film Festival and the entertainment editor for Liberty Magazine. Jo Ann also teaches English Literature and Writing at Mercy College and at Sing Sing, a maximum security prison "up the river" from Manhattan. Jo Ann and husband Mark reside in new york. They have five children and three grandchildren.
